The Storm Rages

An electric storm rages in the darkened sky,
my whole being trembles and the tears flow then,
won't you hold me til my fears take flight?

Lightning rips through my anxious life,
pierces calm, squelches flickering lights, when
an electric storm rages in the darkened sky.

When pain and confusion take over my mind,
and evil the gates of my fortress bend,
won't you hold me til my fears take flight?

I am accused and sentenced before I'm tried,
punishment executed to the bitter end,
an electric storm rages in the darkened sky.

My innocence fled before my eyes.
And you, dear lady, were my one true friend.
And you held me til my fears took flight.

My bleeding heart is healed by time,
and caring concern from several friends.
An electric storm raged in the darkened sky,
but love held me til my fears took flight.
