Our Ring and My Tears

I loved the Darling Companion of my youth,
though I failed to express it in so many ways.
I wanted us to be together
for all of our earthly days.

We’ve been separated a long, long time,
so many tears I’ve shed.
The farthest distance ever between us
was the width of our king-sized bed.

I hang our ring on my teardrops
in honor of my long-time friend.
May each of us find fulfillment in life
with the hope of a victorious end.
