I remember the day I got
you this I'll never forget
That day it was raining I
was dripping soaking wet
A promise I had made to
my daughter that I kept
When we finally got a house
a puppy I would present
My daughter was so happy
she had tears in her eyes
This puppy changed us all
and we didn't realize
She was so scared and
all just skin and bones
We nursed her back to
health,much love she shows
She was abandoned on this
street of cold and fright
I almost hit her on this
dark and rainy night
I stopped the car just in
time to see her big brown eyes
The thought of running her
over brought the tears to my eyes
She was for my daughter but
shes a faithful friend to me
Curled up beside me always
happy and content as can be
Lately she's been crying I
see her tears just seep
She's crying for me through
my time of heartbreak
She lays her head upon my
lap and just whines at night
I reach down and hug her saying
everything will be alright
She feels my heartache
and never leaves my side
She makes me smile again
even though I still cry
