Beginnings

Beginnings

Within the circle
Lies the truth of beginnings
And the soul responds
Slipping past the yesterdays
That need not be lived again

Is this not what life is... a circle of beginnings and endings blending one into the other?  Within its periphery we find the doors we've opened and closed, the curtains we've parted, stepped through, and windows, both dusty and clear, that were our view into the future.  Yesterdays are kept there, of course, but not to be relived, not to be dwelled upon.  They have served their purpose and become the memories of our before.  Life asks this, commands it, for it must continue to sustain itself, to grow within its circle. The soul knows and responds... because it must grow too.
