The Precious Gift
'Twas the night before Christmas
The decorating was through
Gifts were wrapped
Nothing else left to do
As I stood back and gazed
At the work I had done
My thoughts turned to the birth
Of God's only son
The true reason for Christmas
I pondered in my heart
The most precious gift
Came from God at the start
A tiny babe
In a manger did lay
The supreme sacrifice
To take our sins away
Such humble beginnings
But really a king of all
Jesus our Savior
On his name we can call
'Twas the night before Christmas
With Thanksgiving and praise
I thanked my God
For the precious gift he gave
