Echo's

As if it were a relic,
of some lost race,
which they had discovered,
in these dark woods,
the trunk gaped open,
like a mouth,
and he slammed it shut,
the dull thud of its latching,
ECHOED IN HIS HEART.

As if darkness fell into his cold heart,
no moonlight or starlight,
would ever shine,
only echo's in his heart,
of his love so gone,
and dead no more to return to him,
again,
dead like fallen leaves from a tree,
the wind has scattered,
only a lonely echo in his heart,
of a love gone forever,
like gray ashes',
the wind pick-up and took away,
no more to see the light of day,
only echos' in his heart,
of yesterday.
