THERE'S A TIME FOR US

Photobucket

Somehow it seems that life
Just wants to pass us by
But we're not going to let it
There is no reason why

We both have lived full lives
It's not like we're just kids
We want to be together
You and I ...that's how it is

I wake up in the morning
Wishing you were lying there
Wondering what your doing
So many miles from here

I know before the phone will ring
But that's just not the same
Still we make the most of it
But isn't it a crying shame

I know that there's a time for us
We've lived our lives for everyone
Now I know it's our time love
The past is the past and done

It's harder when your older
You get set in your ways
No matter how much you want it
It scares you in many ways

Then I think of your loving face
And the lips I love to kiss
Of how you looked when you drove away
Oh how very much each day your missed

I see something you gave me
It makes me smile then cry
It's special cause you gave it
With love because you try

Such a gentle, kinder man
Who knows our God is King
What more could I ask for
Not one single thing

Oh yes, my dear, a time for us
I know there's got to be
Someday there'll be a knock on the door
And I pray to God that it is me
