This Christmas Eve

I made a silent promise that this Christmas
Would not be sad, no time to grieve.
But when I think of your empty chair,
I'm breaking down in tears this Christmas Eve.

Two Christmases without you, two years gone by.
Too short was the time we had together.
Let me have this one last good cry.
We will have eternity, we will have forever.

Merry Christmas to you up there in heaven.
I can sense your presence here, this I believe.
Let me dry these, wayward tears.
Your spirit is here with us this Christmas Eve.
