A Love Letter

A Love Letter

(This is a love letter from God’s warrior to God’s grace.)

I’ve known love as tender as the morning,
Having felt it in a Mother’s embrace,
Having seen it in a child’s smiling face.
Yet it never sent my heart soaring.

I’ve known love as hard as solid rock,
Immovable and stern in a Father’s word,
One that had to be quickly observed.
Yet it wasn’t the reason this warrior fought.

There is a love that I have not known.
A love to me that has yet to be shown.

As God’s warrior I have been through many trials,
Having overcome the Devil’s wiles,
And coming full circle have changed many a hearts.
Yet still have not found where truest love starts.

I wonder at times has God forgotten me?
For at times the big picture is so hard to see.

Still I am here and keeping the faith,
Awaiting the day when I finish the race.

I keep on dreaming and know,
One day all my dreams will come true,
When at last I find there fulfillment in you.
