IN MY MEMORY

I wander through this life at will
Climbing each and every hill
Wondering why your memory haunts me still

So many memories to remember
Still glow with undying embers
The times we shared so very tender

I ponder on the paths of life
Where one can cause such strife
When I was just your loving wife

It seems you had other things
To do in life - to find what brings
The love that makes the heart forever sing

I don't know why these memories
Keep coming back and taunting me
Causing tears of pain again, you see

I hear of little things you do
Wishing I was there with you
But knowing that I'd not persue

You have a restless soul, I think
I write of it when choosing ink
To write upon the page the broken link

Each time I see a far off hill
Or hear the sounds of whipporwills
Your memory haunts me still

You have gone on and so shall I
Your ambition reaches very high
While mine remains .. to want to fly
