Waves of Assurance
We followed a moonbeam along the shore
ankle deep in the cooling, climbing surf.
The calming effect was impossible to ignore
as we shared smiles for all we were worth.
Your hand was engulfed securely in mine,
our connection had never been greater.
Two sets of footprints were left behind,
washed away just a few seconds later.
We spoke softly of the joy we were feeling
as the night air carried our words.
This atmosphere was at once appealing,
enhanced by the calls of sea birds.
I notice how your hair shines in the moonlight
and the sparkle in your loving eyes.
The circular flow of our love was so right
that it lit up more stars in the skies.
Moments like these are treasures to be kept
in the lock box within our loving hearts.
As each wave back to the ocean is swept,
a new level of love’s reaffirmation starts.
