Get Rid Of The Advertisements

After forty good years
of loving and caring,
how could you walk out on me?
You never looked back
as you walked out the door,
but why wait so long to be free?

There was no indication
of your cruel intent.
Were you wildly unhappy?
is that what it meant?

We'd been through such trials
and weathered them all;
should have known I would topple,
should have foreseen the fall.

I should say 'Good riddance!'
and search for blue sky,
but I'm puzzled and hurting
...I'm still asking 'Why?'
