Echos of Life

In memory of the many loved ones who have gone ahead yet who's lives still inspire us today.

The sun sets low on the distant shore,
A flash of green and it's quickly gone;
Twilight embraces land and sea,
In the still of night a far off song.

A moment, a vapor, and life is past,
A flower that blooms but for a day;
Rich memories dance with song and mirth,
And echos of life soon ebb away.

A transcendental melody fills the air,
Haunting notes of epic times;
Whispered words awaken memories,
Of mighty deeds told in rhyme.

As a dream that is told across the years,
Immortal stories that bards make known;
From humble seeds great fruit spring forth,
None in vain from a life that's sown.

The ebon night is but a curtain,
Beyond the veil the fairest land;
Blessed rest awaits the faithful,
Celestial joy from God's own hand.

Living words from life's sweet song,
Echo long throughout the land;
Measured not in years, the worth of life,
But in good that's done and forever stands.
