The Mighty Oak

Have you really looked at my shiny leaves?
At their deep and tender mint-tinted green?
Whimpering just a little from the bold cold wind-
In Mother Natures bucholic vale-like scene...

Have you really looked at my branches?
At their length, shape, and multi-hued browns?
Or the way that they sometimes just snap-
And fall, rather abruptly to the ground...

Have you ever looked at my trunk?
At its thickness, its bark, or rings so sublime?
Or have i, always, just been to you-
The Mighty Oak Tree, from another place and time?
