Summer Afternoon Onslaught

Galloping horsemen
‘cross the sky
disturbing the calm
of the clouds.

Equine nostrils flaring
and expelling
fiery torrents
of pent up aggression.

Sabers flash against
a graying sun
sending blistering
and contorted
laser beams earthward
helter skelter.

Battle cries resound
and meld as one
filling the skies
an ominous timbre.

As the battle rages
heated brows
in a most profound
profuse manner.

Life below the battlefront
opens up
to receive the sweat
of the fierce combatants.

ultimate beauty
results from
the product of this
sustaining aerial carnage.

We bless the peace
and tranquility after
the storm
