Get Rid Of The Advertisements

Little Mr. Heart

My heart’s been beaten and broken.
Poor thing’s been through alot.
It still twinges when I lean too much,
Metaphorically on one spot.

I’ve pulled it through long term,
I’ve pushed it into long-distance
I’ve even chained it to the internets
And I’ve been far, far too persistent.

I’ve chased the boys I shouldn’t have,
I even chased some girls.
I denied this thought for so long,
And now you are my pearl.

“Take care of little heart” I say
As I hand him over.
But you take him carefully
And tell me you’re my lover.

“But in return I want one thing,
And one thing only from you, darling”
And you whisper to me lovingly,
In such a tone it surprises me.

“With my heart you must be kind,
It gets beaten and bruised alot of the time.
If I give it to you, take care
It’s you that’s caused most of its tear.”

And so we swapped our patched up hearts
And slowly they began to heal.
No more plasters and spare parts,
Just true love, and its love I feel.
