In Place

My face is frozen in place
Revealing things once hidden
Long gone is the faintest trace
Of feelings once forbidden

Released are burdens of thought
Once bound by worrisome chains
Freed by the lessons your love taught
Gloom secedes and sunshine reigns

Free to express joy and love
With sweet words and tender touch
Whispering all I dreamt of
When I longed most for your touch

In the silence side by side
My face is frozen in place
Happiness I cannot hide
You're the smile upon my face

For the first time I feel whole
Unlocking those once sealed doors
In heart, mind, body and soul
Reserved no longer, I'm yours
