Sweet Unvarnished Truth

The truth will set you free.
There's wisdom in that phrase.
Those who tell the truth
Deserve the praise.

A lie will only snowball,
Get way out of control.
And when the fib gets started
The snowball begins to roll.

A spider spins a web.
A lier spins one too.
You'll find it' so much easier
If you tell the truth.

When you tell a lie, you forget
How the story went.
And before you know it,
The truth is pretty bent.

Truth, sweet unvarnished truth.
There's no need to fabricate.
Just own up, and claim it.
It will become your finest trait.
