YOUR DANCING MARIONETTE

Photobucket

Sometimes me thinks it is not wise
To look back on life is no surprise
But it can cause such agony
When a dancing marioneete you made of me

You said jump, I asked how high
I never thought to question why
I was just so much in love you see
That I let you become my 'me'

I had no life; I had no song
I just passed it all to you along
Along with wisdom, love and care
Twas if I never had been there

Me thinks I was the best you found
Of marioneete's to take around
To show off to your friends with glee
For you were now the essence of me

One day, me thinks, the Lord did say
I made you for life - not to be played
I awoke remembering what I'd heard
Told me what to do - listened to His word

It took a while to break away
And you my friend had naught to say
You realized that the 'real me'
Had resurfaced and I was free

I found the pieces of myself
You had just thrown them on a shelf
For no matter how hard you tried
You could not be me..too much to hide

Me thinks, that you are miserable now
I have to forgive; it's hard and how
But you are meant to be just you, you see
Thanks be to God - He came and set me free
