Get Rid Of The Advertisements

Light Through The Window

I waited in the church for my soon to be husband,
even though hours had passed and guest had left,
I felt he would come at the end...

I saw a light coming from the window
coming straight to me...
What could this mean,
the light caressing my hand?
Could this possibly be my man,

telling me that he wouldn't be coming,
to the church to marry me?

My heart started pounding,
as I held on to the light.
I didn't want to let go,
so I held onto it tight...

My dreams were to start this beautiful day
when the two of us would be man and wife...

I started to pray to the One who knew all
and begged him to please keep me strong
if anything was wrong...

I heard a noise and turned to look,
at someone coming into the church.

He wore a uniform that I new so well, standing
there, his eyes upon me,
I turned away not wanting to stay...

He stopped me as I walked by him, and laid
his hand upon my shoulder...
'No, I screamed'- as I continued to pray.

Not today...Not any day,
please Lord let it not be true.
It ended way to soon...

Then I looked to where the light was,
but it had left, as fast as it came.
I walked to the window, to look
at the moon..
It seemed to smile and say, it's ok,
'cause we'll be together,
someday soon.

I fell to the ground, not wanting
to get up,
my life seemed to stop,
in a moments time...

I realized life was a gift and nothing promised,
but to live the best you can, and trust the Lord
to get you through and he would do the rest...
