Sonata

Sonata

I hear the whisper
Of song in bayou wind
Its sweet sonata
Drifting gently, embracing
Memories, defining time

I close my eyes, rippled melodies washing over me... melodies of every sunrise and sunset, every sadness and joy, every season lived and dream I thought forgotten. I hear life's concerto, promising tomorrows just as surely as it keeps my yesterdays. I long to sit and stay awhile, here where time stands still, to share those secrets held within my soul, to dance along memories' bank... and make music, my music... oh, how I long to stay! But there is another whisper, another sonata heard beyond this bayou wind... and I must listen and follow... for time, it seems, is still not through defining me.
