Rosetta Stone
Mile Marker MCDXXIV

English Sonnet

Frozen confessions heard only by night,
useless possessions of knowledge sincere.
Tragedy comforts a candle's dim light,
learning addictions are something to fear.

Silence considers the value of gold,
destiny seen through the eyes of a choice.
Diamonds so willingly purchased and sold,
trusting the weighted dice given a voice.

An extraordinary moment long gone,
paradise screaming desecrated name.
History questions sacrificial pawn,
bleeding compassion while taking the blame.

Destiny's dangerous darkness pursue,
writing down words that will never come true.
