There’s No Turning Back

Go ahead on your mission,
seek out the ore that is life.

Outstretched hands, palms up
occasionally catch moonbeams.

The tune you whistle
to ward off evil doings
trills and echoes over the canyons.

Cinch up those bootstraps
for the miles ahead are many.

That compass in your mind quivers
over destinations well worth your time.

Go ahead to seek your fortune
among the toilers of the world,
your speculations will guide you
to the clearing where you shall build.

You’ve the talent in excess
and the dreams to marry it to,
drop me a line when you get there
I already have it pictured in my mind.
