Today in history is a very special day you see
Not only because we're celebrating MLK day.
But because long ago in a day just like today
The great poet Edgar Allan Poe was born too.
On January, 19, 1809, to this world he came
Born in Boston, a great writer and poet became
Both of his parents were actors who died young
He resided in England till a few years sprung.
He attended university after returning home again
For only a year he did it and that’s a shame!
His foster father with Edgar wasn’t pleased
Edgar's drinking&gambling his brain has seized.
Forced to work as a clerk he just quitted.
Went back to Boston where wrote his first book.
His fame as a great author and poet spreaded.
In Baltimore, Oct, 7, 1849 Edgar A. Poe died.
I bet you that some of you this didn't know.
But this is a historical fact and that's so!
