Sadness Triumphs

Sometimes it is easy to visualize myself, infected with feelings
or frozen in awe...but it is simply leftover fruitcake
within the mind's eye.

Darkness in the light,
now responding to the pain,
bleeding emotions.

Neither the best of times, nor the worst of times
but a beginning time where words of thought bring ends in time.

Dogs, barking nearby,
there in the garden's beauty,
blue skies covering.

The winds carry little noises heard from a great distance.
Laughter rings in the mix of a darkened melody.
So easy would it be to imagine a soul escaping quietly.
Pardon my absence, but I am simply playing the game.

There 'til the light shines,
dark lake's reflected beauty,
wild branches swaying.

Brightly lights shine along the waterfront,
but surely sadness radiates from there;
along with lingering memories of an enchanting love
and times of great wonder.
Misery triumphs and dampness seeps in with tears.
After all, silk is of worms and diamonds, rock.
