Until Morning

In deep purple pallet of evening twilight...
shadows puddle in pools, in cool ocean’s mist
sun slowly sinking sizzle dip into sea
I fantasize, a dream so mystically clear
Where we embrace in a longing lover’s kiss.
The utter joie de verve of being so near
I hope as time ticks that I will remember this.
Abandoned to trysts in dreams when I sleep...
Of concupiscent lyrics, promises softly heard
But as morning swallows the dark;
the sun yawns a new dawn
The song, still in my head as
I sing every inspiring word
These dreams, kept under lock and key
locked inside a high granite tower
with no opportunity to ever be set free.
Oh…. let me return to sweet sleep
if but just for one more enchanting hour.
For that is where I know I'll find you
When lyrical legends really do come to pass
together at last, enthralled by a fervent kiss
a clandestine embrace in pink morning mist
