If I were a Genie
I would not deny
Three wishes to all battling Cancer
I would hear their cry
But a Genie I’m not
That I cannot deny
And this sadness I feel
I just cannot let it lie.
So that is why I rise at dawns’ early light
In hopes that somehow we can erase their cries
For those battling Cancer
I shall never give up the fight.
Sixty kilometers in the cold, heat or rain
Doesn’t scare me
But the thought of Cancer knocking on my door
Well that does you see
So this is a pledge of sorts to those whom I’ve lost
And to all the survivors as well
We've got to kick CANCER'S butt
And give it hell.
