Shadows
Walking along in the shadow of the night
The stars had such a strange and eerie light
The fog upon the water began to shimmer
My heart began to race it seemed a mile a minute
There was the sound of thunder that appeared
A sound that was becoming louder, quickly disappearing
I could almost feel a presense of someone lurking in the shadows
But no one seemed to be around where I was standing
I walked along near the waters edge and saw a girl standing there
Who was she and why was she standing near the water watching the moon
Was it just my imagination getting the better of me?
She quickly walked along as I decided to follow her
Trying to keep up with her we came across a rather strange building
It seemed to have been abandoned for quite some time
I knew my imagination was getting the better of me
I looked near the gate and it seemed to be the Grim Reaper
I pleaded with him and said that it wasn't my time to leave
The wind began to howl through the windows as the shutters banged back and forth
I got up from under the covers as I heard the thunder outside and closed the shutters
And closed my mystery book for the night
Was it just my imagination getting the better of me?
I knew I must have been dreaming on the mystical rainy night
