WHEN I WAS YOUNG

Photobucket
When I was young,
I through passions to the wind,
Had not care for outcomes of heart.
Fast and short lived.

When I was young,
I'd free fall without concern at all.
Didn't care where I would end up.
Careless and unthinking.

When I was young,
Anger, love, and pain all felt the same.
Intense, blind, and unforgiving of youth.
Reckless and intrigued.

I'm not young now,
I learned control of emotions,understanding,
I think things through with a gentler hand,
Caring and knowing.

I'm not young now,
Have found faith and guidance in life,
Security in who I am, liking me once more.
Strength and self esteem.
