Glances

Glances

Caught on twilight's edge
Stars shiver with impatient
Breath, stealing glances
Until midnight velvet crawls
Across silent horizons

And clouds drift, curling whispers of leftover thoughts, teasing moon, playing peek-a-boo games. I listen to the stillness of night... waiting... waiting. There! A sigh, a fading chord of contentment, that one forgotten breath slipping away. How I wish to capture this moment, paint of night clouds and stars, moon and velvet, but I believe I shall write of it instead. Later...yes, later... after the whispers and dreams are gone and I am left with only the memory.
