THE VEIL OF TEARS

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

I wandered on a place I'd never been
Beautiful and haunting it appeared
It was much later that I learned
It was called 'the veil of tears'

Wondrous meadow everywhere
Birds singing from the trees
A brook nearby enticing
A place of many, many years

The sunlight melted through the trees
And cascaded on the ground
I discovered if I listened softly
I could hear a gentle sound

It was from a little falls nearby
Water falling on the rocks so soft
Almost sounded like a lullaby
You could see the doves aloft

Couldn't help wonder where the people were
It looked so beautiful but barren land
Grass so plushy you were begged lay down
Here and there a bit of sun laced sand

As the day grew into evening
I began to hear this song
So I waited in the thicket
Knowing that I did not belong

Suddenly there in the meadow
Were little fairies everywhere
Dancing, singing in the garden
You could tell they had no fear

You could see the animals peeking
As if not to spoil the show
What a beautiful spontaneous dance
I could not urge myself to go

Soon the music changed its tempo
Twas a sadness in its sound
Fairies dancing now with veils
Every color they could have found

Then the song began that led them
To the waterfall below
I could hear they whisperd softly
'To the veil of tears we go'

I left while they couldn't see me
Could not forget this through the night
Had to find if there's an answer
Why they come there in the night

A gentle woman told me the story
She said it was for those passed on in years
That near moonlight each night they do it
And it's called 'the veil of tears'.
