The abandoned carnival

As I walked under the stars there was something beckoning me
There was some music I could hear, but where was it coming from
I decided to walk further along the path and came across a girl
She seemed to be very mystical and very kind and wise
With her hand she beckoned me along the path
But where was she taking me I began to ponder
The stars began to shimmer and shine with beautiful light
The stars began to swirl and shimmer with such a dazzling display
As we walked along the path, there was an abandoned merry go round
It magically began twirling around playing music so mysteriously

It was a very beautiful sight, so intriguing and mystical
The girl told me a story that I will never forget
I asked her why the merry go round is still twirling and she said well there is a story that an old man and woman once ran this carnival but are long gone
Some say it is haunted and the couple died of a disease of loneliness
Others say that they are still alive and work at the carnival during the season
The carousel looked so beautiful as it twirled around on its own
It was very magical yet very strange that it was playing music
The girl looked at me and said we could ride on the merry go round
But who was she, and where is this carnival place I am at
I felt a sense of serenity and peace that filled the air
The merry go round looked just like the one I used to ride as a child
I wondered if I was dreaming or was it true that the old couple died of a disease of loneliness as I looked around the abandoned carnival grounds
I almost felt as though I was dreaming this whole thing
It was strangely beautiful and yet very mystical at the same time
Maybe my imagination was getting the better of me
