Flow On Like a River
Flow on like a river, meandering for a while.
You bubble goodness from inside
Soothe all who come in contact with your smile,
they’ll surely sense your innate pride.
Hold the hands of the weary and downtrodden,
let them assimilate your strength.
They’ll thank you deeply when they’ve gotten
inspiration from your breadth and length.
Your spirit will bathe the unwashed sinners,
providing a direction from their low.
In a moment you turn nonbelievers into winners
with the steadiness of your flow.
I know quite well of what I freely speak
for my heart has been thusly touched.
You’ve taken this man who was morally weak
And allowed him to throw away his crutch.
My thanks could never truly recompense
the heart that beats in your chest.
To say I love you would make perfect sense,
I’ve no longer fear of life’s next test.
