Laid To Rest

Photobucket

Laid upon the jagged edge of the cliff
Winds piercing through its fleshy body
Singled out, cast aside are black roses
As the cold wind blows they become numb

Thorns losing their point, no view felt
Their petals stiffen as life is drained
Pigments of faith seeps from their stem
Fallen into the sadness life's obscurity

Root rot, damages within by salty tears
Cold north winds slicing at its fragility
Alone, trapped in this desolate nothingness
Sacrificing bouquet in complete oblivion

Teetering on the brink of its extinction
Once these petals were kissed by pastels
Memories gliding upon this chilling breeze
No longer alone and finally without pain
