BLESS THE BROKEN ROAD

Photobucket

It was a day for memories
As I walked all alone
Some good; some bad; remembering
How this use to be our home

We raised our children in that house
That sits now in such disrepair
Could I turn the clock back now
It would look good and we'd be there

But people will be people
Mistakes are made and then
You are no longer lovers
But you manage to be friends

I see the walkway to the river
Where we went so many days
Everything wanted ...provided
Now we see how we have paid

We had our favorite sitting place
Where we had choice of sun or shade
The luster was off the stone
Where so many promises were made

Well, that was then and this is now
Even though we live so far apart
I will always love you, dear
It's yours eternally you know...my heart
