I stand alone

I stand alone
Leaning on my window pane
In the stillness of twilight
My mind frolics
In an old familiar place
Once your arms
Held me just right
Refuge in a time now erased
Rain clouds
Shadow every curve
When I did touch your gentle face
My serenity
A shooting star that fades way
I hang on any hope
This is just a dream
Shaking this loneness
Is breaking my existence
My eyesight has grown weary
And a darker shade
With each day I am getting older
My passion for you
Is still a morning flower
Why I stand till the break of day
To hear warm beams
Of light whisper your name
My mind creates a gentle wind
To carry me your way
To all the familiar places
In the light
Of a new day
