I am bereft…. drowning in my tears
Tempest tossed on the sea of life
With no do over in sight
I search my mind for a lighthouse of hope
A beacon to the shores of joy
Alas! The night grows old
While the gibbon moon smiles coldly down
I search my intellect for reasons to go on
Making assumptions on the quality of the hours
As they flow through the hourglass of time
Spilling over into mountains
I can not climb
The ticking clock whispers their names to me
Bringing me their songs of love
While I watch purple shadows
Beckon me to come
Follow them unto the greatest of oblivion
Strangely I still linger
Tempted by some far off melody of life
That teases and tantalizes my soul
Pulsing with the manta
Hold on … hold on
The clowns still laugh
The fat lady has not yet sung
It is not yet your time
Walk on ..renew the effort
There is more to come
More sunsets.. more stars
More clouds to hide the sun
More goals yet to attain
So... alto my body yearns
To leave my loneliness behind
I turn my face into the wind
And keep on walking
Down the dusty road of life
