RISE AND SHINE
Brighten Up, Sonshine, it's a pretty day
Peek your head from neath the covers and you'll see
Rise and Shine, this is the day the Lord made
He made it just for you ...wake up just for me
Twas the way my Mama woke me
When I was small and I do not forget
Always saying, 'rise and shine'
Didn't always, now to my regret
Getting that head from neath the covers
Was not as easy as it seems
I was just a kid back then
And full of funny, loving dreams
Many dreams of Mama
Happy as can be
I remember Mama said
Dream a little dream of me...
Just to hear her say that once again
I would be so blessed I know
But there comes a time in life
When we find we must let go
Yet I still remember, how sweet the sound
You could hear the love in what she'd say
What a blessing to remember this..
I passed it on to my kids..each and every day.
