MY FRIEND
Sometimes we get so busy
Just living our own lives
We forget so many things
That help us all survive
Being a poet is awesome
If you don't get carried away
That I think is what I've done
That's why I'm here to say....
I want to say I'm sorry
And it's coming from my heart
You are so wonderful to me
And I do not do my part
Of course, I have some reasons
Just as we all are apt to do
But to ignore a thank you/or a poem
Is just not right ...I'm asking you
Please try to forgive me
I wasn't taught that way
I knew to write my thank yous
And return sweetness some way
It seems most times that I
Do neither and it makes me sad
How dare I hurt the ones I love
It is so uncaring and just bad
I'm going to pray to Jesus
To help show me the way
That I can write and also
Do other things, I pray
It seems that when I post a few
It takes much of my time
Then when I'm through, that's it
For it's taken all my time
That is not fair to all of you
The poets that I truly love
Like saying, 'read mine, read mine,
And forget who I should be thinking of
It isn't that I do forget
Or that I do not care
I'm glad someone said it
To awaken this despair
I truly am going to try
To somehow do it right
Forgive me, say a little prayer
