My Parting Message
It’s been my goal to entertain you,
the contributors and reviewers here.
There been a few misses and bull’s-eyes too,
please know my efforts were generally sincere.
I have not only posted the stuff of my mind,
I have also read and reread your spillage too.
I’ve left my insight in reviews for you to find
little critiques of this thing that we do.
I’d be lying if I said my favorites didn’t exist,
human nature gravitates to known entities.
I’m more than sure there’s some gems I have missed,
to you creators I offer sincere apologies.
Since earlier this year I have peppered this site
with my ramblings, at no cost to you.
Now I believe the timing is right
to bid all of my brethren a final adieu.
To those who’ve shared a few moments with me,
I say thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Cherry, Joyce, Kate…you’ll always be
purveyors and keepers of our lyrical art.
Little Sis Dory, Heather and Dorrie…free spirited,
our discourse has brought light to my existence.
You’ll all remain rummaging through my head,
keep creating with a verve and persistence.
Be kind to those whose talent is still green,
your patient guidance could be all that they need.
Whether they’re being funny or venting their spleen
your helpful insight may just water their seed.
Now, I’ll step down off of this soapbox at last
sprinkling the blooms of gratitude and delight.
Wrapped in warmth of communion of the past
I bid you all a good day and a very good night.
To those not mentioned by name I thank you for your time and patience with me. The experience has been an enlightening one. I can only hope that some of my pieces really hit home with you.
