Scent Of Lilacs, Taste Of Rain

Lovely spring morning
Birdsongs sweet refrain.
My heart overflows
With the scent of lilacs,
Taste of rain.

Windows flung open
Sweet fragrance, insane
My senses delight in
Dense lilac hedges,
In bloom once again.

Apple trees are budding.
Ballerina blossoms dance
Blithely with the raindrops
On each giving branch.

Spring is playing my heartstrings,
A soft lilting beat.
While tulips and daffodils
Rise up to greet
The scent of lilacs
Pungent and sweet.
