We tried so long to fight our feelings
It seemed we could not right the wrongs
Yet, we neither one could forget
As we melted every time we'd hear a song
Determined not to see each other again
Was a promise we just could not keep
We were destined to be lovers/friends
Whether the beginning justifies the end
There are things in life we cannot change
Also things we just can't live without
You and I were caught up in that web
Knowing that our love was not in doubt
This was a day we had waited for
To be together as we so pleased
In the meadow's splendor lying there

A love that we savored every moment
