Get Rid Of The Advertisements

can't have your cake and eat it too!

I was the lover
and the promise
and the prize.
I was late hazy nights
and campfires
and I was the ocean at your feet,
and the sound rushing through your ears
as you slept.
I was the new perspective, love.
I was the waiter and the clock fighter
and I tip tip click click
typed out
the perfect digits
and unlocked new places.
I was the best friend forever
and the one that
took off her clothes
desperate to make you smile
to make it better.
you hold value so loosely,
you have such a messed up
view of things.
you'd rather shove your tongue
in someone else's mouth
than have the one
that loved you through a year
of too much too much can't take it.
clarification:
I'm not like your sister
I'm not like your best friend
I'm not like, the only thing you need
(waa waa)
you cut the chord,
you make me sick.
