Night Wishes

ON

EAGLE'S WINGS

WE DO

SOAR

SultryRose's Signatures

I soar on wings of wild night birds
Across the miles... up high
Reach out to shine a star up
As I go winging by

High up above deep waters
Cold enough to chill one's soul
I watch huge angry billows
As the green Alantic rolls

I reach that place where iceburgs
Like naked ladies cry
Icy tears caress their bossoms
As they dwindle down to die

Finally at last my soul has reached
The green geen grass of home
Where my family they await me
Beneath sad high polished stones

There 's the rundown family homepace
Where once bright candles burned
To welcome home a daughter
Who never did return

I see the silent rocking chairs
Where they once sat to wait
Tall unmowed grass it beckons me
Behind a broken gate

I sit there just remembering
The days that used to be
When I was young and there was where
I thought I'd always be

So futile tears are falling
Like some cold September rain
When the present calls to greet me
Where I find that nothing's changes

Except this scrap of paper
Where my pen has been at play
To record my recollections
From when my thoughts ran astray.

Across the miles .. across the sea
Back home to be again
Within the arms of family
That I'll never see again
