Envy I The Moon

To think love this same silvery moon
Set in a lilac blanket of star kissed sky
Hung by invisible chords of existence
Speaking it's language of night and dreams
To the heart of those whose reach
Beyond this plain of beating time
And cryptic aching flesh

To think love this same moon
Shines it's mystic light on you
Caressing you with cascading kisses
Of silver twilight, leaving the haze
Of it's soul in your midnight eyes
Running it's beams of nightshade
Through your ebony hair

Envy I the moon at these times
Wishing to dance around
The pools of your soul
So has the moon enticed
Poets of long ago
Singing secrets of ancient birth
Making love to the breaking dawn
Never really gone
Masking itself in the light of the sun

To think my love while the sun shines
Down on you, I see the moon
And dream within it's starry light
Of a time when I see it's sultry night
Reflecting in the sky of your eyes
A glimpse of two heavens
Gazing upon one earth and into my soul

To think my love this same moon
Shines down on me and you
Let the moon kiss your soul
As if it were my own
And in time ........
Under the whispering night
I'll kiss you with lips of
Silver and lilac light
Tasting the beat of your heart
And the words of your lips
Dripping like honey kisses
From the tongue of the moon

To think love this same moon
Shines down on you
