Another Chance to Get it Right

Stepping out into a brand new day
I’m almost blinded by the light.
The dream I dreamed holds sway
as it carries over from the night.

I’m almost blinded by the light,
with its chances to make amends.
As it carries over from the night,
crystal clear, it knows no ends.

With its chances to make amends
I’ll seek out those who’ve gone awry.
Crystal clear, it knows no ends,
it leaves it all up to me to specify.

I’ll seek out those who’ve gone awry,
reaching out for trembling hands.
It leaves it all up to me to specify
he who falls and he who stands.

Reaching out for trembling hands
I can share what I have learned.
He who falls and he who stands,
determines who’s been spurned.

I can share what I have learned,
each stumble and triumph alike.
Determines who’s been spurned
with a hopeless finger in the dike.

Clear eyed and with a hopeful soul,
stepping out into a brand new day.
Slumber has dictated my new role,
the dream I dreamed holds sway.
