BECAUSE YOU LOVED ME
I came here with a hurting heart
Never thinking that I could belong
Wanting to be a poet ...yet
Still wondering was I right or wrong
I saw so many real poets and I
Questioned should I even stay
With encouragment I did
Now I thank the Lord each day
I'm talking about Starlite
Just in case you weren't aware
They took me in and made me strong
I found that there were angels there
Picked me up; dusted me off
Told me that I had true worth
Words I'd longed so long to hear
The sweetest words on earth
So write I did; and pitifully
I go back now and I smile
Wondering what was I thinking
But now it's been quite a while
Ruby, Jeri and Badmac took me in
Encouraged me and gave me hope
That was my beginning here ...
I learned to stay and also cope
Now I write any time of day
About most anything I can
God's Little Whispers just evolved
I'll always think that was His plan
I love this place called Starlite
Just a stop upon the internet
But I have learned to call it home
Having not one bit of regret
I've friends and family here now
And if you are not one yet
I will tell you from my heart
It's only because we haven't met
I carry many names here
Each a blessing in my life
God whispers and I listen
Gone all the hurt and strife
Thank you is not near enough
My starlite angels ...YOU
Yet it's something I must say
Because, you know it's true
I love each soul I've touched
Thank God, I do not have to roam
I will be right here to write
Until God calls me gently home
because you loved me......
