Embracing Memories
You come to me each season
hopscotch through my mind
bringing back fond memories
of another place and time
I feel you close in Autumn
our favorite time of year
but...
gray skies of November
mix with crystal tears
pansies dance in Springtime
wear aqua, satin gowns
reminded of your spirit
ever glowing smile
butterflies flitter, flutter
with message...
on their wings
warm presence lifts my spirit
turmoil calms within
sandcastle dreams of Summer
walking, hand in hand
ocean songs 'n dolphins
footprints in the sand
haunting sounds of Winter
linger through the night
reflecting on snow Angels
blanketed in white
never is mind vacant
thoughts tiptoe to and fro
'oft times laughter leapfrogs
to days of long ago
YES.....
I long for you each season
'n listen to each breeze
within the halls of mem'ry
you're there within the dream
seasons pass so quickly
each with a sad refrain
ashes to ashes, dust to dust
yet...
love in heart remains
deep inside my being
pieces of you reside
serenades at sunset
hum songs of bye 'n bye

I hear your whispers clearly
in back booth of my mind
as petals of red roses
float gently to the ground
find rest upon
your gravestone
moistened with my tears
thinking back,
remembering...
buried yesteryears
its more than your love
sweet laughter
that sustains me every day
it's remembering the man
my hero...
that chases blues away
