Get Rid Of The Advertisements

Naturally

My daughter, now a mother,
packs lunches for tomorrow.
If I could have but one wish,
it's her energy I would borrow.

She warms milk for her old mum,
brings me a final drink;
heads upstairs to her family,
but not to sleep, I think.

The boys who live here with us
have long since 'hit the hay'.
They've had many hours of hard labour
and tomorrow's another day.

Alone again, naturally;
as thus it has become,
I sit here in the silence,
heart alight which once was numb.

Though I may lack human company,
God is with me all the way;
so I quietly meditate His word,
then come to Him and pray.

Dear Father, be with those in need,
enfold them to Your breast;
that they might know Your comfort
and, in Your presence, rest.
