For This I Pray
I have many friends
at the Starlite Café
who have known
such pain and anguish.
To the Almighty
I kneel and I pray
their agony His benevolence
would vanquish.

Some say everything old
will be new again,
but I wonder if that applies
to the human spirit.
I’d rejoice if the crippled
could dance and spin
to that special song played
so they could hear it.
~~
Those, like me, who’ve
lost loved ones too soon
would be given strength
to understand why.
May we see their faces
in the light of the moon
and hear them tell us
to no longer sit and cry.
~~~
Everything old will be new again
when we pass over
to be joyfully reunited
in Heaven, by his side.
It’s not an ending when
we’re laid neath the clover,
for true believers
this reunion cannot be denied.
